Car or Van
Definitely the most convenient and hassle-free way to travel around the island: safe, your own timing, stops on the way if needed, plenty space for luggage. We are happy to organize a taxi for you with our trustable drivers and comfortable vehicles wherever you are!
Whisky Point is approximatively 320 kms from Bandaranayake International Airport , the drive may take from 6 up to 7hours depending on the traffic conditions. Mattala International Airport is 170km away, the drive will take 2 hours and a half. Transfers have to be paid in advance and are not refundable once confirmed.
Air Taxi
If you wish to reduce the time of your journey to the East Coast significantly and enjoy stunning bird’s-eye-view on the way Cinnamon Air offers exclusive charter flights from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) to Batticaloa.
The duration of the flight is about an hour and two and a half hours from Batticaloa to our hotel by car. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance to check schedule/availability to book your flight and organize a transfer from the airport to the resort.
Train
Using trains in Sri Lanka will enrich your travel experience, if you like to slow down and curious about local culture and daily life. The train from Kandy to Ella is the most popular among tourists because of spectacular views of tea plantations, green hills, waterfalls and forest. There are several trains from Colombo direct to Ella. You can check trains schedule and tickets prices here:

Then, depends on your budget and preferences, you can continue your journey to Whisky Point by bus/tuktuk or taxi, the drive by car will take 3 hours, buses 5-6hours. Please, let us know if you need a pick up from Ella Train Station and we will organize a comfortable and secure a transfer for you!
Bus
There are several Comfortable AC night buses, 1 Departing every day from Colombo Bandaranaike Airport at 8PM

2 Bus departing from Colombo to Panama, Kalmunai and Akkraipattu daily, they all make stop in Pottuvil town bus stand, which is 10 minutes drive from Whisky Point Resort. The journey will take about 8 hours. Please, have a look at the busses and ticket prices here:
